Baby Massage
The sense of touch is the first sense to develop in the womb and the last to leave us before we die.
Baby massage is a wonderful way to spend time with your new baby.
Research suggests baby massage has the following benefits;
- Relaxes the baby and helps them to sleep better
- Reduces colic and digestive problems
- Boosts the immune system
- Helps with bonding
- Reduces postnatal depression
My classes follow the IAIM programme created by Vimala McClure which is taught in 50 countries.

Group course
The course runs over 4 or 5 weeks which allows plenty of time to learn and become accustomed to the massage strokes.
Each week, as well as learning a new part of the body, we repeat the massage strokes we have learnt in previous weeks which allows time to practice and reinforce your learning. All of the techniques are demonstrated, by me, on a doll, and explained in full as you massage your own baby.
There is then an opportunity for discussion prior to having a cup of tea or coffee and home made cake! Its a great way to meet other Mum's.
The sessions are totally baby led so you are welcome to feed change and attend to your babies needs throughout the sessions
The 5 week course costs £60 this includes a pot of massage oil, full detailed hand outs and refreshments including home made cake!
Courses are suitable for babies from birth to a year old. The ideal age to start the course is once your baby is over 4 weeks old. Babies who are less than 4 weeks often need frequent feeds/cuddles and attention, so it can be easier to wait until after this time to start the course so you and your baby can get the full benefit of having time practice the massage during the sessions.
Each session lasts 90 mins

Private Antenatal/ Friends group sessions;
If you are part of an antenatal group or have a group of friends that would like to take part in a private baby massage course, I am very happy to run a course for you. Normally one of the group hosts the course in their own home on a mutually convenient day/time. You don't need much room just enough for each Mum to sit with their baby lying in front of them. Costs vary dependant on size of group please contact me to discuss your requirements further.

One to one private sessions
These sessions take place in the comfort of your own home and are arranged at a mutually convenient time allowing your partner to learn the massage techniques at the same time if you prefer .
I recommend 2 sessions of 45 mins which allows time for you to learn the full body massage, I demonstrate on a doll and you can practice on your baby if they are in the mood, or on another doll if they are not! You are also welcome to book further sessions as you require.
The cost for the 2 sessions is £75 this includes a pot of oil and full hand outs. Please contact me to discuss further or call 07790 649892
